The children have the opportunity, to play with various toys and join in fun activities, from creative, play dough, water play, decorating cakes/biscuits, story time dancing and singing. Each week there will be something different for the children to join in with, we follow and celebrate different festivals and special days for example Mother’s Day and Easter.
While parents have the chance to socialise with other parent and carers, and so avoid the isolation that looking after children can involve. You can meet people who are in a similar situation and so find support and meet friends.
There are many advantages to attending a toddler group for both you and your children such as: It allows your child to socialise with other and gain confidence. This means toddler groups are a way to prepare for when they go to nursery.
Our Toddler Group is run by Mrs Passaseo, our Nursery Teaching Assistant, she holds a Foundation Degree level 5 in Early Years and has 26 years of experience of working in Early Years with children from birth to 5 years old. Having a member of our nursery team running the toddler groups helps with forming bonds with the children who are going to attend school Nursery. When they start nursery, they will already have a trusted adult, who they have formed a relationship with, in the setting. This in turn can help with the settling in process and can lead to an enjoyable start to their educational journey.
The Toddler Group runs ever Monday morning from 9 till 10.30 in the school sports hall.
It is £2 per child and £1 for any additional siblings attending the session.
We ask parents to bring along a snack and drink for their child with them. We have a NO NUT policy within our school, so we ask that any snacks being brought are nut free.
We also ask parents not to bring hot drinks with them and that mobile phones are not used within the session time. The school policy is no mobiles to be used in or around the school site.
